(BEIJING, July 8) -- Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping expressed confidence that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) will host successful and splendid Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian events this summer and praised the Hong Kong government for the contributions to Olympic and Paralympic preparations.Xi made the comments in a keynote address at the Shangri-La Hotel in Hong Kong on June 7 at a party hosted by the HKSAR governmentThe government of Hong Kong has worked closely with the Equestrian Committee of Hong Kong and the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong to fulfill their commitment to host successful Olympic events, Xi added.Hong Kong is one of six co-host cities taking part in the Summer Games. The Special Administration Region has built two high-quality modern equestrian venues in the last three years and in recent months has been busily preparing municipal and events-related services in anticipation of the Games.
