China's National Meteorological Center has triggered a red weather alert, as typhoon Sarika nears the country's southern coast.
Moving at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour, Sarika will land in Hainan Province on Tuesday.
Local authorities have ordered all fishing boats back to harbor and halted some tourism programs.
Police have also ordered city workers to inspect the city's advertisement boards to ensure they won't be torn down by torrential winds.
