Today marks India’s Republic Day, a date that celebrates the establishment of the country’s constitution. A grand parade is being held in New Delhi.
The parade lasts three hours, with various military regiments taking part. Border Security forces, a camel contingent, army dogs, the cavalry, military bands, war tanks, and daredevils on motorcycles are all included.
The Indian Air Force’s fighters are performing aerial maneuvers, and each state in India is sending a cultural tableaux and representative floats.
And for the first time in the history of India’s Republic Day Parade, a 76-member French Army contingent led by a French military band is taking part. Thirty-six well-trained dogs from the Indian army’s Veterinary Corps are also part of the procession.
