In the speech, US President Barack Obama has tried to reassured anxious Americans that his administration will protect them from the threat of terrorism. He called on Congress to take measures right away.
"Now here at home, we have to work together to address the challenge. There are several steps that Congress should take right away. To begin with, congress should act to make sure no one is able to buy a gun. What could possibly be the argument for allowing a terrorist suspect to buy a semi-automatic weapon? There's a matter of national security. Next, we should put in place a stronger screening for those who come to America without a visa...../Finally, if congress believes as i do that we are at a war with ISIL, it should go ahead and vote to authorise the continued use military force against ISIL.....are united and committed to this fight." Obama said.
