From one museum to another, this time in the municipality of Chongqing -- It's the hometown of piano prodigy Li Yundi. Playing to this strength, the city now boasts the largest piano museum in China.
Located in the downtown area, the museum opened on Tuesday, to reveal 200 antique pianos of various eras, representing some of the world's most famous brands. It even includes the instrument of French composer Camille Saint-Saens, famed for his 'Carnival of the Animals', which includes a section entitled 'Pianistes'.
Visitors are allowed to try their hand on some of the pianos, and also attend concerts given by virtuosos. But it was Li Yundi himself who graced the opening ceremony. He is the museum's honorary director.
