German Chancellor Angela Merkel has called for full transparency in clearing up the Volkswagen emission test scandal. She said auto authorities are ready to get involved. This came after VW lost roughly a third of its market value since Friday.
"I think it's right that the German transport minister (Alexander Dobrindt) together with Germany's central car registration agency is conducting the necessary discussions. This is the only way to achieve transparency. All necessary measures have been set in motion -- in my view, as far as I can see today," Merkel said.
