China's reform to regulate commercial activities have largely reduced access barriers for start-ups from Hong Kong to establish business in the Chinese mainland. That's the message delivered by Zhang Mao, the director general of State Administration for Industry and Commerce of China.
According to director Zhang, the number of Hong Kong financed, newly registered business in the Chinese mainland has increased nearly 10% on a year-on-year basis since the reform of commercial activities started. The registered capital by these business have grown by nearly 28% year-on-year.
With more reform policies and measures on the way, there will be more opportunities for Hong Kong entreprenuers to invest or establish start-ups in the Chinese mainland.
Meanwhile, the next step of the reform will focus on strengthening regulation on intellectual property protection. And improving supervision of online shopping and online advertisement will also be an integral part of the reform.
