An Ebola vaccine developed by a military affiliated research institute in China has been approved for human testing and will begin shortly. That's according to the Chinese People's Liberation Army's General Logistics Department.
This is also a major breakthrough in China's fight against contagious diseases. The vaccine is derived from a mutant gene and targets the Ebola strain from spreading.
It is currently available in the form of a freeze-dried powder, a stable form which can be kept for at least two weeks up to temperatures of 37 degrees celsius, common in the tropical west African region.
