More bad news for Olympic and world champion swimmer Sun Yang as the Chinese super star has been barred from training in Australia in the wake of a three-month ban for a doping violation.
Swimming Australia high performance boss Michael Scott met with Sun’s Australian coach Denis Cotter-ell last week and told him the 23-year-old Chinese, one of the biggest names in world swimming, was no longer welcome at the local pool.
As a result of that meeting and their policy, Cotterell had advised the Chinese Swimming Federation that Sun Yang will not be allowed to train at the Miami Swimming Club anymore or any of their podium centers.
