China plans a 16.3 billion US dollar fund to finance infrastructure that links to foreign countries along the new silk road. This is according to Bloomberg who quoted from government officials drafting the "One Belt and One Road" program.
The fund will be used to build and expand railways, roads and pipelines to facilitate trade over a land-based belt and a maritime route. More policies will be announced soon to encourage Chinese banks to finance the projects, and Chinese companies will also be asked to invest in the countries along the new silk road, and bid for contracts.
