KIEV, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine's Shakhtar Donetsk drew 2-2 with Spain's Sevilla in their first match of the UEFA Europa League's semi-final at the Lvov Arena stadium on Thursday night.
The whole game was very dynamic and thrilling, with both sides looking equally strong.
The guests went ahead six minutes into the game as Vitolo found the net after an assist from Kevin Gameiro.
Shakhtar equalized in the 23rd minute when Marlos fired the bouncing ball into the bottom left corner past Sevilla goalkeeper David Soria.
The hosts have doubled the lead in the 36th minute via a header by Taras Stepanenko and have dominated the game up to the end of the first half.
In the second half, visitors took initiative and looked more dangerous in their attacks. The Spanish side restored parity in the game in the 82nd minute as Gameiro converted a penalty.
The second leg of the Europa League's round of the last four will be staged in Spain's Seville on May 5.
