一、一般现在式及现在进行式的用法与内函之（一）

基础篇 1: Breakfast or Lunch?

1]It was Sunday. I never get up early on Sundays. I sometimes stay in bed until lunch time. Last Sunday I got up very late. I looked out of the window. It was dark outside. “What a day!” I thought. “It’s raining again.”

2]Just then, the telephone rang. It was aunt Lucy. “I’ve just arrived by train,” she said, “I’m coming to see you.”

3]“But I’m still having breakfast.” I said.
“What are you doing?” she asked.
“I’m having breakfast,” I repeated.
“Dear me,” she said, “Do you always get up so late? It’s one o’clock!”

〈边读边谈〉

1. v.+until
动词在肯定句后面有until,这个until就是连词（一直到，到 ...(为止））。

e.g. I watched her until she disappeared from sight in the distance.

我看着她直到她在远处消失为止。

2. What a day!可以说天气真糟，也可以说天气真好，要看具体情况。

3. Just then,指就在那时＝at that moment

译文：

1]那是一个星期天。凡是星期天我起的很晚。有时要睡到吃午饭的时候才起床。
上星期天，我的很晚。向窗外看去，外面天气昏暗。“瞧那鬼天气！”我想，“又下雨了。”

知识点小结:


1、一般现在式往往和“从不”，“经常”等副词连用，以表示一种惯常性的动作。这些副词，我们称之为频度副词。如：always, sometimes , never, frequently, often, rarely, ever.

（每逢星期天你惯常早起吗？）

2、现在进行式在表达“正在”之外,还可解悉为“打算”,“计划”,“要”等。
1) I am leaving for Hong Kong tomorrow.
2) The train is leaving in five minutes.
3) Rick is making a speech at the meeting the day after tomorrow.
4) Is the committee meeting this evening?
5) The famous violinist is playing in tonight’s concert.
