为一点小利益出卖自己的出生权益？引申为因小失大。应该是来自圣经旧约约瑟的儿子以扫和雅各的。以扫是长子，一日从外面回来因为口渴要喝弟弟雅各煮的红豆汤，雅各要求哥哥用长子的名分来换。以扫同意了，所以父亲将长子应得的福分全被给了弟弟雅各。
