解说：
“消费者物价正在下跌。”Consumer prices are down.“十月份的消费者物价下降了。”(Consumer prices in October declined.)如这句的decline的这种生硬的单语，平时很少用，有如“批发价正在上涨。”(There's an upswing in wholesale prices.)之upswing是常听得到的单语，所以受人欢迎的单语，经常会被使用。同样一句话The wholesale prices are up.也对，但是总不如There's an upswing.来得常用。生意不太好时可以说The business is slow。生意活络时，则说The trade is brisk。
