人类似乎很容易被“永远，永恒”这类的词感动，尽管科学家们已经为我们证明了，永远其实不存在。地球是有年龄的，宇宙是有始终的，各种各样的生物在地球这个大舞台上你方唱罢我登场，人也是一样的。可是人们还是会说“我永远爱你”。
英文里表示“永远，永恒”常用的有几个词，今天我们就来看一看“永远”到底有多远。
Forever 这个词的英文意思是“For everlasting time; eternally”，可以解释为“永远地，永恒地”，不受时间空间的限制，比如：No one can live forever. 无人能永生。因为它有“永远不会结束”的词意，这个词还常用来抱怨“表面上很长的时间”，比如： It has taken forever to resolve these problems. 花了很多时间解决这些问题。
Everlasting 这个词很“直白”，就像字面意思一样，是“一直存在的”，所以也就是“永远，永恒”了，比如： No one has an everlasting life. 无人能永生。Everlasting 也可以用来表示抱怨因时间太久而“冗长的，令人厌烦的，没完没了的”，比如：She tired of his everlasting complaints. 她受够了他没完没了的抱怨。
Eternal 是个音形义结合的很美的词，意思是“没有开始没有结束的，永恒的，不断的，不朽的，永生的”，想象一下上帝在人们心中的位置，就可以理解这个词了。总体来说，它是个褒义词，也最接近我们汉语中的“永恒”，比如：Rome has been called the Eternal City. 罗马被称为永恒之城。Eternal life to the revolutionary martyrs! 革命先烈永垂不朽!
Always 这个词也是“永远”，但是和 forever， everlasting 和 eternal 又不太一样，后三个词表示一种“永恒，无始无终”，但是always却是一种“有始有终”的永远，比如 I will always love you. 但如果死了，人都没了，爱也就不在了。Always 更多是表示一种“every time; on every occasion; without exception; all the time; continuously; uninterruptedly”，比如：
He always works on Saturday. 他周六总是工作。

Perpetual 是不是看着很面生？如果你知道永动机的话，这个词也就不难了。 Perpetual motion machine 就是永动机。大家可以把 perpetual 理解成permanent，但是后者比前者更常见一些。
Indefinitely 这个词在新闻中比较常见，有一个说法叫“……无限期搁置delayed indefinitely”，所以 indefinitely 更多是“无限期地”，和永远好像还不太一样，比如：

I think there is no forever this word In such real world .Because somethingin life is just a short moment.We just live well in this day and we don't know what will happen to us in next time.
So,I think don't make a promise easily and maybe you will pay for it at last.
Every day ,every hour and every minute is special and we don't know if  it will be your last time,so "forever" this word just abstract concept.
