W: Tommy played truant today. His teacher called me this morning.
汤米今天旷课。他的老师今天早上打电话给我。

M: Where did he go?
他去了哪里？

W: I've asked him, but he won't tell me. What should we do about this? He is like you. I remember when we were at the college, you always skipped classes.
我问了他，但是他不告诉我。我应该怎么办？他像你。我记得我们读大学时，你总是逃课。

M: Like me? But you see I am so successful now. And if he is really like me, he will be more successful than me in the future.
像我？但是你看我现在如此成功。如果他真的像我，他将来会比我更成功。

W: Stop, stop… We are talking about our son's attendance for classes and his study. Maybe we could give him a little bit money to pay to go to school.
停停停！我们讨论的是我们的儿子上学出席情况和学习情况。或许我们应该给他一点钱雇他去上学？

M: Pay him? But he studies for himself, not for you or for me or for anybody else. I got an idea. You should send him to class every morning and after the class begins, you can go to work.
给他钱？但是他是为自己学习，不是为我为你或者为其他人。我有一个主意。你应该每天早上送他去上学，然后上课之后你才去工作。

W: In that way, I'll be late every day. How about letting him go to school on school bus?
那样的话，我每天都要迟到。让他大校车去上学怎么样？

M: That's a good idea. Why have I never thought of that?
好主意！为什么我就没有想到呢？

W: That's because I went to school for each class when I was at school. So now I am much more clever than you.
那是因为我上学那时我每节课都有去上，所以现在我比你聪明多了。
