Germany announces Olympic men's basketball squad

(BEIJING, July 25) -- After booking its ticket to Beijing 2008 by beating Puerto Rico 96-82 at the 2008 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Athens, Germany has announced its Olympic men's basketball squad.. It is the first time that Germany has qualified for the Olympics since Barcelona 1992, where it finished seventh.

NBA player Dirk Nowitzki will undoubtedly be the mainstay of Germany's basketball team.
