(Photo by Clive Rose/Getty Images)Photo Gallery>>(BEIJING, July 14) -- Dwain Chambers, the 100-meter race runner from the United Kingdom, is going to London's High Court on July 16 to seek the lifting of the British Olympic Association's lifetime ban from the Olympics placed on him for using performance-enhancing drugs, according to a report by the Associated Press.The International Association of Athletics Federations reported on its official website that on the second day of United Kingdom's Olympic trials, Chambers grabbed first place in the men's 100-meter race with a time of 10.00 seconds, just 0.03 second off his personal best. Simeon Williamson placed second in the qualifier with 10.03 seconds, while World Championship relay bronze medalist Craig Pickering was third in 10.19 seconds.However, Chambers' stunning performance cannot guarantee him a ticket to Beijing. In early 2004, he was slapped with a two-year ban from athletics and a lifelong ban from Olympics competitions for taking drugs.The IAAF reported on its website that Chambers made his first return to athletics in June of 2006, when he finished in third place in 10.07 seconds in the Norwich Union British Grand Prix.If the ban is lifted, Chambers is likely to be included in the UK's 4x100m Olympic relay squad, said the report by the Associated Press. The final roster of the UK's Olympic squad is scheduled to be released by July 20.
