German fencer Nicolas Limbach won bronze.The gold medal winner in the Men's Saber Individual at the 2004 Olympics, Montano advanced into the round of 32 by crushing Japanese Sato Takahiro 15-3. He defeated French Pillet Julien, Russian Frossine Alexei, Romanian Dumitrescu Rares and Hungarian Szilagyi Aron on his way to the final match up with his compatriot.Aron, American Smart Keeth, Rares and Chinese player Zhong Man finished in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh spots, respectively.
