(BEIJING, June 2) -- No. 8 seeds Zheng Jie and Yan Zi from China lost 4-6, 3-6 to No. 10 seeds Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascuel of Spain in the third round of the French Open on June 2. The Chinese women's doubles team won at Wimbledon and the Australian Open in 2006, but has struggled this year.Though Zheng and Yan entered the match as the higher ranked team, Garrigues and Pascuel beat the Chinese duo in the second round of the Italian Open last month and are formidable opponents on clay. The Spanish team was in control for most of today's match, taking early leads in both sets.Sun TianTian and Peng Shuai from China lost in their third round match on Sunday. Zheng and Yan's loss means that no Chinese players remain in contention at this year's French Open.
