Xie Limei wins Women's Triple Jump

(BEIJING, May 25) -- Xie Limei from China won gold on Sunday with a jump of 14.39 meters in the Women's Triple Jump at the Good Luck Beijing China Athletics Open. Li Qian from China finished second with a jump of 13.93 meters and Sha Li, also from China, came in third with a jump of 13.73 meters.

The 22-year-old champion is considered one of the best triple jumpers in Asia. Her personal best of 14.90 meters, achieved at the 2007 China Athletics Grand Prix, is currently the Asian triple jump record.
