LUSAKA, May 20 (Xinhua) -- The World soccer governing body has conditionally approved the use of Konkola stadium for Zambia's World and Africa Cup qualifying games, state TV channel reported on Tuesday.
Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) General Secretary George Kasengele however, said this will be on condition that the on-going work at the stadium meets the standards, according to Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC).
Kasengele said his organization is optimistic that the stadium will be ready by the end of July.
He said if the stadium had not been ready, the Zambia National Soccer Team would have been forced to play its games outside the country, which could have disadvantaged soccer fans.
