(BEIJING, April 13) -- Feng Shuyong, deputy director of the Chinese Athletics Management Center, which governs China's track and field program, said Liu Xiang will not try to break his world record of 12.88s in the 110m hurdles when he competes in the Olympics this summer, although he believes Liu will post a time under 12.95s.

After a historic performance at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, high hopes have been placed on Liu Xiang for this summer's Games. But Feng warned that giving too much media attention to athletes may be detrimental to their preparations for the Olympics.

Calling Liu's recent training "the best winter training for him ever," Feng added that the Center will not be putting unnecessary pressure on their athletes by setting targets too high.
