Uganda's national coach blasts local football federation

KAMPALA, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Uganda Cranes head coach Laszlo Csaba has advised the Federation of Ugandan Football Associations (FUFA) to respect his decisions or look for a replacement.

The Hungarian-born German tactician issued the furious warning following the federation's intervention over his axing of two foreign based players, Moses Jjunju and Joseph Kanyike.

Csaba had earlier expressed his dissatisfaction with the quality of strikers Jjunju (Ilford, England) and Kanyike (WHC, Netherlands).

Csaba has described FUFA's intervention as nosing into his work, but FUFA is unrepentant.

"What Csaba is doing is wrong. We want him to give the players ample time before making such decisions. He axed those players before testing them. He should be professional enough," said FUFA spokesman Rogers Mulindwa, quoted by Daily Monitor on Saturday.

Csaba reacted to Mulindwa's comments by saying that he has a right to choose his team. "I decide who plays on my team, not FUFA. If they (FUFA) are against my decisions, then they should look for another coach," said Csaba.

The Cranes will host Libya on March 26 in a FIFA recognized international friendly game. The national team is expected to use locally based players and travel to Eritrea for the first leg of the African Nations Championship a day later.
