(Beijing, June 21) -- Wanna learn a love song?
That's what the producers of the Olympic Songfest program on BTV1 were hoping for -- and more -- as they moved the Olympic Song Search to a Beijing college setting when the popular TV show made its "campus series" debut at Beijing Jiaotong University with the first of the two segment Olympic Songfest episode airing on June 15.
Part two of the Olympic Songfest aired June 22 on BTV1.
The program's host, Yang Lan and guest host, Wu Dawei were on hand to give a jumpstart to BTV1 "Campus Series".
Olympic Songfest's "Music Ambassador," He Yaoshan, along with other singers from the Chinese entertainment industry joined together in chorus to support to this Olympic cause.
It was a grand university gathering that played host to find the best Olympic songs. Not only did a multitude of university students attend the live taping, but the Songfest attracted top executives from several record labels. In addition Wang Xaiofeng, Wu Xiangfei, Chen Yue, Zang Yunfei and other well-known songwriters were on hand at Beijing Jiaotong University.
They were interested not only in the evening's vocal performances but also in new business opportunities that the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games would bring.
During the evening's gala, Zhang Liangying, Li Jian, Dong Lu, Hou Xu, and others Chinese singers performed their own songs produced especially for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad. Li Jian even took the opportunity to submit a song he wrote to the Olympic Songfest campaign office to express his zeal for the Olympic Movement.
