名词baggage与luggage用法补充
1. baggage主要用于美国英语中，英国英语中通常用luggage。两者均用于统指“行李”，不具体指一件行李，因此不可数，既不能与不定冠词连用，也没有复数形式。如：
20 kg of luggage is the maximum we allow on the flight. 航班乘客最多可携带20千克的行李。
Baggage loaded onto an aircraft must be evenly distributed. 飞机载运的行李应均匀放置在各个部位。
即使受到all, some等的修饰，也不能用复数形式。如：
They examined all baggage at the airport. 他们在机场检查了所有行李。
2. 可用much, little, a little, a lot of, lots of, a large amount of等修饰，但不能用many, few, a few, several等修饰。如：
You’ve got a lot of luggage! 你的行李可真多呀!
“Have you brought much luggage?” “No, not much.”“你带了很多行李吗?”“不，不多。”
The railroad gives free transportation for a certain amount of baggage. 一定量的行李铁路运送是免费的。
3. 若要表示几件行李，要借助piece或article。如：
five pieces [articles] of baggage 5件行李
How many pieces of baggage have you got? 你有几件行李?
4. 用于短语bag and baggage，意为“带着全部财物”（常指突然地或秘密地）。如：
Her tenant left, bag and baggage, without paying the rent. 她的房客未付房租就带着全部财物离去了。
