Chinese and US delegates at the high-level talks on commerce, trade and investment emphasized the importance of China-US relations. US Trade Representative Froman called it 'the most important bilateral relationship of the 21st Century'. That can be seen in figures for the world's two largest economies.
China is now the United States’ largest trading partner. The trade volume in 2015 hit nearly 560 billion US dollars, an increase of 4.8 percent in the last three years. Investment is also growing with bilateral investment stock coming at 160 billion US dollars.
To date, US investment in China has risen by 20 percent in this year and Chinese investment is directly responsible for creating 100-thousand US jobs.
