The Postal Bank of China IPO has several advantages compared with others.
PSBS has raised 7.4 billion US dollars with the listing. It is the biggest since Chinese internet giant Alibaba floated in New York in 2014, raising 25 billion US dollars.
The bank has numerous branches and a broad and solid customers base. The State-owned retail bank is fifth-largest lender, with over 40,000 outlets.
And around 70 percent of that branches are located in rural areas. It provides basic banking services to farmers and agricultural business owners. That means its conservative business strategy ensured it to be less effected by market and industry risks.
The non-performing loan ratio of PSBS is far lower than other banks. According to the PSBC prospectus, that number reached 0.78 percent as of June 30 this year. Much lower than the average of 1.81 percent for other commercial banks.
PSBS has ten major investors....including UBS, JP Morgan and China Life Insurance Company and Internet companies like China Telecom and Tencent. Their business covers a wide range of areas. Endorsed by big financial companies, state-owned companies, as well as Internet companies, high growth rate can be expected.
