Home prices in China rose for a seventh straight month in February. A report compiled by the China Index Academy says the average price for new homes in 100 Chinese cities increased a slight 0.6 percent from the previous month. Prices rose in 61 cities, one more city than in January. The city of Zhongshan in Guangdong province topped the list with a 5.6-percent price increase. Haikou was at the bottom of the list and saw prices fall 2.8 percent. The Chinese property market resumed its upturn after the Chinese New Year and following the finance minister's tax cuts on property transactions. Experts at the China Index Academy expect prices to continue rising in the coming months.
