Chen Xiwen, the Deputy Director of the Central Rural Work Leading Group emphasized the importance of supply-side structural reform in the agriculture sector.
"The supply side structural reform applies to the agricultural and rural sector. It is also a crucial direction and measure in solving the problems in the sector. As I said, there is a mismatch between supply and demand of the major agricultural products in China. And on the supply side, this is particularly acute. We should not judge the success of production by quantity only. We also need to see whether the variety and quality can meet the market demand," Chen said.
