The US military says a finance chief of the self-proclaimed Islamic State was killed in air strikes in Iraq last month.
Spokesperson Colonel Steve Warren said in a video conference from Baghdad, that the man killed, Abu Saleh, was one of the most senior and experienced members of the group's nefarious financial system.
Washington's envoy for the anti-ISIL fight, also confirmed on social media that Abu Saleh was killed, along with two associates, as part of the US-led coalition's campaign to destroy the extremists' financial infrastructure.
