A strong cold front is sweeping across Inner Mongolia in northern China, bringing heavy snow.
Most of the region, including the cities of Ulanqab, Chifeng and Tongliao, are facing more than 10 millimeters of snow. Temperatures have fallen more than 8 degrees Celsius. Multiple expressways have been shut down, and some of the public transportation system has been paralyzed. Local weather departments forecast a second round of massive snow and rains before Monday. Temperatures are expected to drop another 4 to 6 degrees Celsius for most parts of the region.
