China has outlined a roadmap for the development of alternative energy vehicles in the coming decade. The government will roll out a plan for the industry to encourage its development and innovation, along with favourable policies.
According to the blueprint, the government is looking to introduce green cars to households, government organizations, taxis, and the logistics industry.
It hopes green vehicles will account for 5% of market sales by 2020, and 20% in 2025. China is also hoping to build a market-oriented industry chain with strong R & D capacity by the year 2020, with a 70% share in the domestic market. The country's green auto industry has seen explosive growth over the past two years. Sales are expected to top 200,000 this year.
