Chinese and American scientists have developed a new antibody targeting the MERS virus, which has, to date, killed 19 people and infected over 150 in South Korea.
But Shanghai-based Fudan University has been working with the US National Institute of Health to develop an antibody for the virus, and the university announced that tests on animals had seen "very effective" results.
According to its head of the research, the antibody -- named m336 -- can neutralize the virus better than any others .and Zhong Nanshan, a renowned respiratory expert, called for an immediate clinical trial.
