China's main stock indexes rose to fresh seven-year highs on Friday, posting their fifth consecutive weekly gains, as tepid inflation data reinforced expectations of more policy easing.
The Shanghai Composite Index gained almost 2 percent, posting a weekly increase of 4.4 percent, and easing higher than 4,000 points, which was seen by many as a strong resistance level.
Meanwhile, the CSI300 index -- for the largest listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen -- rose 1.9 percent on Friday, bringing this week's overall gain to 4.2 percent. Both indices reached their highest levels since March 2008.
