Beijing's 2022 Olympic Winter Games Bid Committee headed to Lausanne, Switzerland on Monday morning. They will submit their bidding application to the IOC on Tuesday local time.
The 2022 Olympic Winter Games Bid draft group was organized in May 2014. The group consists of four divisions: the Chinese division, the photograph and technology division, the guarantee group, and the English/French translation group. According to the IOC bidding outline, the application answered all 192 questions of the 14 topics, fully summarizing the bidding concept, venues, event organizing and media operation. Compared to the 2008 Beijing Olympics bid application, the topics have been reduced to 14 from 18, and the pages shortened to around 300 from more than 500 pages in order to prevent waste. Besides the bidding application, Beijing also needs 154 guarantees, including the guarantees from related governments, venues and hotels. The final result will announce on July 31st.
"The most difficult aspect is how to fully understand the IOC questions, what we need to answer and what answers the IOC expects receive. After tranlsation, it still needs further editing, so it took us a long time to read the original material," Xu Da, deputy secretary general of 2022 Olympics Bid, said.
