The United States and Europe will slap new sanctions on Russia this week, in the wake of its continued assistance to anti-government forces in eastern Ukraine.
The decision was made on Monday, during a video conference between US President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.
They hope Russian President Vladimir Putin will take a cooperative stance on resolving the Ukrainian crisis.
