We begin with a return-to-action in the NBA. New Jersey's Yi Jianlian came back to the court after being sidelined by injury. Yi entered the Nets' game against the Minnesota Timberwolves just before Christmas Day.
The Nets produced a special video to wish every player a Merry Christmas. And Chinese sensation Yi Jianlian played the role of a treasured Christmas gift in the New Jersey lineup. He talked about how he approached the action on his first game back.
Yi Jianlian of New Jersy Nets says, "My state in training is OK, so I resume my play today as a substitute. And I wanted to get myself adjusted."
The only thing better than Yi's return for New Jersey fans would be a Nets' win on Christmas Eve.
And Yi did a great job off the bench, after missing 24 games. He dropped 7 in out of 12 field goals, and landed 4 three-pointers out of 6, for a total of 22 points along with 8 rebounds. But the Minnesota Timberwolves topped the final scoreline. They won the match 103-99. The Nets lost their 8th game in a row.
