KATHMANDU, Nov. 30 (Xinhua)-- Nepal has expressed serious concerns over the entry of 13 Indian border police force personnel in Nepal's territory without knowledge of Nepali authorities, Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press statement in Kathmandu on Monday evening.
It was reported that 13 Indian Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel had entered to Nepal's Kechna Village Development Committee of Jhapa District bordering India, on Sunday morning, at 7 am local time.
Spokesman at the Nepal's Ministry of Home Affairs said that some of Indian SSB personnel were found to have entered to the Nepali territory with weapons.
"However, they were later handed over to the concerned officials of the SSB Battalion, Kishangunj town of the Indian state of Bihar on Sunday afternoon," the spokesman told Xinhua.
The ministry urged the Indian authorities, through the Embassy of India in Kathmandu to ensure that such incidents are not to recur in the future, read the press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This is the second case in less than a week that the Indian border police personnel entered to Nepal's territory without noting the Nepali authorities in the India-Nepal bordering region.
On last Thursday, the Nepali government had asked India to launch an investigation into the incident where four Nepali nationals were injured by bullets fired by Indian border force in Terai region of Southern Nepal bordering India.
