THE HAGUE, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- The Dutch government has not been in real danger of falling during the past crisis over a health care law, Prime Minister Mark Rutte said on Friday during a press conference after the last meeting of the Council of Ministers this year.

"It's a very complex political problem, but you have seen that the political will to get a solution was great," Rutte said. "We have found a solution in which all parties can identify themselves."

The Dutch government parties VVD (Liberals) and PvdA (Labor) got into a sudden and unexpected crisis on Tuesday afternoon after three PvdA members of the senate blocked a new health care law by VVD current Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport Edith Schippers.

As a consequence the health insurance reforms did not get a majority in the senate, while the law already had a majority vote in the House of Representatives.

After intensive talks the government parties reached a deal on Thursday night on submitting an adjusted new health care law, of which they hope it will be approved by the senate this time.

The prime minister did not want to elaborate on what would happen if the new bill to be rejected again.
