GAZA, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- At least six Palestinians were injured on Friday evening by Israeli soldiers' gunfire near the borders between Israel and eastern Gaza Strip, medics and eyewitnesses said.
Ashraf al-Qaida, spokesman of the Gaza-based health ministry said six Palestinian young men were lightly to moderately injured by Israeli soldiers' gunfire in east of Jabalia near the borders with Israel.
Witnesses said dozens of young men gathered near the fence of the borders between east of Jabalia town and Israel, adding that they waved Palestinian flags, chanted slogans against Israel and threw stones at the soldiers.
They said that the soldiers, who were stationed at the borderline area opened fire to disperse the young men, adding that six were shot and wounded by live ammunition.
Every Friday, dozens of young gather near the eastern Gaza graveyard, east of Jabalia town near the borders between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel to protest against the ongoing Israeli blockade imposed on the enclave since 2007.
Meanwhile, Israeli Radio reported on Friday that a makeshift rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel, causing no harms or damage. No one claimed responsibility for the rocket's attack.
