TEHRAN, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Wednesday that the West does not have the right to interfere in Tunisia's internal affairs.

Talking to a crowd of people in Iran's central city of Yazd, Ahmadinejad said Western countries aimed to deprive the Tunisians of their rights through psychological warfare, the English language satellite Press TV reported.

He said Tunisians wanted an Islamic government, according to the report.

The Tunisian Constitutional Council decided on Saturday to oust Zine El Abidine Ben Ali from power.

Ben Ali, who ruled Tunisia for more than 23 years, fled to Saudi Arabia on Friday after massive protests across the country.
