In Fort Bend county, Texas, polling booths opened at 7 am Tuesday, and despite drizzling rain, voters lined up outside the polling booths before the polling began, waiting to cast their ballots.

At the Sugar Land City Hall polling station, William Msbud expressed his dissatisfaction with the government, and said the main reasons for his dissatisfaction are the souring economy and policies taken by the Obama administration, in particular, its Medicare reform.

The top priorities of the new legislature should be cutting government spending and repealing the Medicare plan, he said.

Carol King said she did not think the government had done a good job, and said that she would be voting for the Republicans because "that's what we can do at this point". Both parties need to "get out" because they are not representing the people," she said.

However, Joyce Norris, a Democratic who just moved to Texas from Chicargo, said before casting ballots at the First Colony Conference Center polling station that she believed Obama has done "a good job", considering the fact that he inherited "a mess" from the previous government. It will take time to clear the mess up, she said.

Voters like Frank Jones did not go to the polling stations. Jones said he did not vote because he did not trust both parties and that he did not expect any changes no matter which party is elected into power.

Americans are voting on all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 37 Senate seats in the midterm elections. Predictions based on surveys are telling that Republicans may takeover the House but Democrats are set to win the Senate.
