PYONGYANG, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Political parties of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and South Korea called for implementation of joint declarations, the official news agency KCNA reported on Monday.
The Korean Social Democratic Party of the DPRK and the Democratic Labor Party of South Korea, stressed the need to "regard the declarations as the immutable reunification programs," said the report.
The joint statement was made on the occasion of the third anniversary of the publication of the Declaration for Development of North-South Relations and Peace and Prosperity, also known as the October 4 Declaration.
According to the KCNA, the two parties will reject outside interference in internal issues of the Koreans, and strengthen solidarity and cooperation for independent reunification, common interests and prosperity.
The two parties called upon all the Koreans to "unite as one", so as to defend and implement the North-South joint declarations, said the statement.
"The destiny of the nation hinges on the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration," said the statement.
