There were no casualties in the bombing and an investigation into the incident was underway, Jordan's Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communications Nabil Sharif said.
The incident occurred around 5:00 p.m. local time (1500 GMT) on the Naour road which leads to the Jordan Valley area, where the King Hussein Bridge located along the Jordanian-Israeli borders.
The official did not mention if Israeli ambassador in Amman was in the convoy, but local media reports indicated that former Israeli ambassador to Jordan Jacob Rosen was in the convoy, which was heading to Israel.
Jordan was the second Arab state after Egypt to sign a peace treaty with Israel. The two countries signed the Wadi Araba Peace Treaty in 1994.
