英语文摘:"The King's Speech" leads 2011 BAFTAs with 14 nominations

BEIJING, Jan. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- UK blockbuster "The King's Speech" has just led the way in the 2011 British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards (BAFTAs) with 14 nominations, according to Reuters reports Wednesday.

The film won just one of seven nominations for Golden Globe Award on last Sunday. Lead actor Colin Firth, 50, gained The Best Performance Award for his role as an English king struggling to overcome a stammer as he rises to power.

The controversial U.S. movie "Black Swan" was just behind "The King's Speech" on 12 nominations.

Thriller "Inception," follows with nine nominations, while "127 Hours" and "True Grit" were in eight categories.

"The Social Network," which won four of six awards it was nominated for at the Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture, again received six nominations at the BAFTAs.

"Alice In Wonderland" had five, while "The Kids Are All Right, "about a lesbian couple and their children, and British film "Made In Dagenham," had four.

"The Fighter," "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" and "Toy Story 3" each received three nominations.

Winners will be announced at the BAFTAs ceremony in London on Feb. 13.
