BEIJING, Oct. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- U.S. comedic actress Amy Adams is finalizing her deal to join Disney's "The Muppets", according to media reports Friday.
Adams will play Jason Segel's girlfriend in a story that finds the pair heading to Los Angeles to visit the famous Muppet Studios.
Other actors included in the untitled comedy are Chris Cooper and Rashida Jones. Cooper would be the pic's primary villain, an evil oil tycoon set on destroying the Muppet Theater to drill for the oil he believes it's sitting on. Jones is said to portray an ABC executive.

The film, which reunites the Muppets on the big screen for the first time since 1999's "Muppets From Space", will be directed by James Bobin from a script by Segal and Nick Stoller.
Shooting is scheduled to take place this November in and around the Los Angeles area.
