BEIJING, Sept. 15 (Xinhuanet) -- Hollywood star Jennifer Lopez is reportedly setting for 12 million dollars to sever as a judge on the new season of "American Idol", media reported Wednesday.

The singer and actress signed the deal to join the panel of judges on "American Idol" after negotiations with Fox.

It was reported that Lopez had originally asked for 15 million dollars and the negotiations once fell apart.

Lopez set the deal after Simon Cowell left in May during Season 9 finale that saw Lee DeWyze crowned the Idol.
