BEIJING, April 15 (Xinhuanet) -- The Oscar-winning actor and director of blockbuster "The Passion of the Christ" Mel Gibson and his Russian-born singer girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva have split up five months after the birth of their baby daughter Lucia, media reported on Thursday.

A source tells Us Magazine that the two, who met on the set of Edge of Darkness, called it quits "months ago." "No one dumped anyone," the source says. "It's all very friendly."

"They’re both working hard on their careers and trying to raise a sweet baby together. They're still friends, and they'll both raise Lucia together," a source tells People magazine.

Gibson's spokesman declined to comment on the reports.

Mel Gibson was born on Jan. 3, 1956, in Peekskill, New York. He went public about his romance with Grigorieva shortly after filing for divorce in April 2009 from his wife Robyn, ending nearly 30 years of matrimony resulting in seven children of their own.

Oksana Grigorieva, a Russian musician, also has a teenage son with former James Bond actor Timothy Dalton.
