BEIJING, April 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Nicollette Sheridan, the U.S. actress who played sexy Realtor Edie Britt in ABC's "Desperate Housewives," is suing the show's creator and producer, according to media reports.

The Golden Globe nominee alleges the creator hit her in the face on the set in September 2008. Sheridan's character was killed off last year.

The actress is suing for 20 million dollars, alleging assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination.

According to a lawsuit filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court, the show's producer Marc Cherry created a hostile work environment on the set and behaved aggressively and abusively toward the cast and the writers.
